Sri Veerabhadra Temple


Honasagere village is about 5kms from Nagavalli which comes on Tumkur-Kunigal road. Sri Veerabhadra Temple datable to 10th-11th century AD was built during later Chalukyan style. The temple was in dilapidated condition due to most of the outer stone walls were fallen and missing. The temple which was in dilapidated condition were dismantled completely; missing stones were replaced with new stones and re-constructed the temple after strengthening the adhisthana. Shikara was built over garbhagriha and prakara was also built around the temple for protection. The restoration of the temple took up during 2009-11.
