Sri Malleshwara Temple

 Aghalaya is situated about 8kms from Shravanabelagola. Sri Malleshwara Swamy Temple is Trikutachala temple having three garbhagrihas, shivalingas in each garbhagriha facing east and each nandi having beautiful carvings. The pillars wall portions are richly carved. The temple has all the early features of the architecture of Hoysala period and built during 10th-11th century AD. The restoration work of the temple took up during 2004-05. During restoration all the stone members were dismantled, broken/damaged stone walls were replaced with new stone walls and re-built after strengthening the adhisthana. Beautiful garden was constructed and prakara/linkmesh was put around the temple for protection. This temple is a Protected Monument of Department of State Archeology, Government of Karnataka. Daily pooja is now being performed in this temple,
