Sri Panchalingeshwara Temple

Bettahally village is at a distance of about 25 kms from Nelamangala and 5 kms from Bangalore-Hassan highway. Sri Panchalingeshwara Temple was built in 7th century AD. Even though the temple was built by Chola, it does have a few resemblances to Ganga style considering the shikara and carvings on Nandi idol. The temple consisting of 9 garbhagrihas, sukhanasi and common navaranga mantapa. The Nandi idol in navaranga is very attractive. The temple was in total dilapidated condition. During the restoration work all the stone members were dismantled, cleaned and re-built after strengthening the Adhistana. Suitable shikara was built over the Garbhagriha as per the original. The entrance mantapa was newly built. The restoration work of the temple took place during 2012-13. After the restoration work, daily pooja is now being performed in this temple.
