Sri Rani Abbakka Devi Smaraka (Sri Adhinatha and Parshwanatha Basadi)

Ullala town is at a distance of about 12kms from Mangalore, and passes through Mangalore-Calicut highway. The basadi which is at Ullala was built in 16th century AD by Abbakka Devi who had fought against Portugese. The basadi consists of Garbhagriha, Pradakshinapatha around Garbhagriha and Sabhamantapa. The basadi which was in total dilapidated condition was completely dismantled and re-built after strengthening Adhisthana and putting new latterite stone wall. In view of heavy rainfall in coastal Mangalore, tiled roof has also been put. The restoration work was carried out during 2004-05. Large number of devotees/tourists are now attracted by this monument.
