Sri Byatarayaswamy Temple

Hebbooru, a Hobli headquartress is at a distance of about 15 kms from Kunigal Town and passes through Kunigal- Tumkur highway. This place is having number of ancient temples and most of them are in dilapidated condition. The Byatarayaswamy temple of Hebbur is about 400 years old and in Vijayanagara style of architecture. Though the Garbhagruha and antarala was built by granite stones the other portion of the walls are constructed by bricks and limemortar. During restoration the entire structure was dismantled and the foundation was strengthened. In place of the brick walls stone walls are added. The restoration work is in progress.
