Sri Umamaheshwara Temple

 Hosagunda village is situated at 60kms from Shimogha and 16kms from Sagara town. Sri Umamaheshwara Temple complex is fascinating in the kadamba-Chalukya style of architecture stands in the midst of forest of malnad region. This 10th-11th century AD temple was built in the typical Kalyana Chalukya style dedicated to Lord Shiva. The temple consists of Rangamantapa, Sabhamantapa, Pradakshinapatha and beautiful Garbhagriha. The village Hosagunda attains its popularity known for its Kadamba Chalukya style of architecture. The dilapidated temple was completely dismantled; stones were separated, cleaned, and reconstructed. New stone shikara was built over garbhagriha. The restoration of the temple took place during 2010-12 at a Cost of Rs. 36.16 Lakhs.
