Sri Kanveshwara Temple

Bellur village is at a distance of 15kms from Kolar, towards Bangalore and adjacent to Bangalore-Kolar highway. Sri Kanveshwara Temple was built during the year 1150  in Dravidian style of architecture. The temple complex consists of three independent temples of Eshwara, Ganapathi and Parvathi. During restoration work all the outer stone wall members were dismantled, stones were cleaned and reconstructed after strengthening the adhisthana. Flooring inside and outside pradakshinapatha of the temple was laid with stone slabs. Suitable Shikara was built over three garbhagrihas separately. The restoration of the temple was done during 2010-11. After the restoration work, daily pooja is being performed in this temple.
