Sri Malleshwara Temple

Santheshivara village is at a distance of about 15kms from Tiptur, and passes through Chennarayapatna-Tiptur road. Sri Malleshwara temple was built in 9th century AD in the architectural style of era of Gangas. Shikara over garbhagriha was built in Kadambanagara style of architecture. The temple was earlier restored in 12th century AD during Hoysala period. During restoration work old damaged stones were replaced and re-built after strengthening the adhisthana. Prakara was constructed around the temple for protection. The restoration work of the temple was carried out during 2005-06. After the restoration work, daily pooja is being performed in this temple.
