Sri Parshwanatha Basadi

Kundur is a village at a distance of about 10kms from Alur town on Hassan-Sakaleshpura road. The Parshwanatha Basadi in the village is of about 400 years old and was in total dilapidated condition due to wild growth of vegetation on walls. The basadi was completely dismantled, cleaned the existing stone members, and replaced the broken/missing stones with new one and re-built after strengthening adhisthana. As this basadi is situated in malnad region, mangalore tiles roof were laid to prevent water logging. New stone slabs were laid for flooring inside and outside the basadi. The restoration work of the basadi was carried out during 2009-10. After restoration work daily pooja is being performed in this basadi.
