Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Temple

Doddakunche is a village located at a distance of about 15kms from Holenarasipura town. Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Temple was built in around 10th-11th century AD in the architectural style of era of Chola dynasty. The temple was in dilapidated condition due to wild growth of vegetation over the roof. The temple consists of Garbhagriha, Antarala, Navaranga and an entrance porch with Kakshashana. During restoration work all the stone members were dismantled, old stones were cleaned, broken stones were replaced by new stones. The restoration work was carried out after strengthening the adhisthana. Shikara was built over garbhagriha as per the original style. Prakara was constructed around the temple for protection. The work was carried out during 2003-04. After the restoration work, daily pooja is being performed in this temple.
