Sri Someshwara Temple
Cholenahally village is at a distance of 5kms from Chennarayapatna - Holenarasipura road. The temple was built in three stages. The garbhagudi was built about 800 years ago in the Chola style of architecture. The temple was further extended by Hoysala and Vijayanagara dynasties. The temple was in total dilapidated condition. During the restoration work all the stone members were dismantled, cleaned and re-built after strengthening the adhisthana. New stone slabs were laid for flooring inside and outside the temple. Prakara was also constructed around the temple for protection. The temple is attracting many devotees as it is on the banks of the river. The restoration work of this temple took up during 2010-11. After restoration of the temple, daily pooja is being performed.
