Sri Someshwara Temple
Huligi village is about 10kms from Hospete town and near to Munirabad town which is adjacent to Hospete-Bijapur Highway. Sri Someshwara Temple datable to 11th century AD is in Rashtrakuta style of architecture was built by Somanathabhatta son of Chouvedibhatta. Even though the temple is built on the rock, almost 50% of the temple was covered with soil which flows from the river Tungabhadra. The temple was in dilapidated condition. The temple complex consists of separate Parvati, Subramanya, Someshwara and Ganapati temples. The restoration of the temple was done during 2006-07. Prakara was built around the temple for protection. After the restoration work, daily pooja is being performed in this temple attracting many devotees. This is one of the monument which is converted from non-living to living temple.
