Sri Gopalakrishna Temple

Nonavinakere is about 20kms from Tiptur town. Sri Gopalakrishna Temple which was built during 11th century AD could be dated to Nolamba kingdom. The temple is in Hoysala style consisting of garbhagriha, antarala, navaranga and mukhamantapa. The idols inside this trikutachala temple are in Vijayanagara style of architecture. The temple was in dilapidated condition. When the outer stone walls were in the verge of collapse, size stone walls were propped for temporary protection. The restoration of the temple took place during 1996-2000. Daily pooja is being performed after restoration.
