Sri Someshwara Temple

 Kennalu village is situated at a distance of 8kms from Shrirangapatna and on the Mysore-K.R.Pete road. Sri Someshwara Temple was built around 400 years ago was in dilapidated condition. The half portion of the temple was covered with soil. The soil covered around the temple was totally removed. After dismantling the structure, foundation was strengthened, existing stone members were chemically cleaned, new stone members were substituted in place of broken/damaged and structure was completely re-built with shikara over garbhagriha. Flooring inside and outside of the temple was laid with stone slabs. Prakara was built for protection around the temple. The restoration work took place during 2010-11. After the restoration work, daily pooja is now being performed in this temple.
